![]() ![]() Lastly, the gas mileage for this vehicle is very reasonable for a V6 at a consistent 21-23 mpg depending on highway/surface street habits. The drive is relatively smooth, and the engine has enough power to efficiently climb steep hills and conquer semi-rough terrain. is very straight forward and access to required parts is easy. Another benefit of Cadillac is that they design the vehicle in a manner that is conducive to convenient basic maintenance. I also enjoy being able to utilize the programmable controllers for my home garage door, personalize mirrors and seat positioning based on key fob identification, and the panoramic sunroof. The rear seats lay down nearly flat creating a bed like space similar in space to a small pickup. In addition to those aspects, I would say that other benefits include the ability to pair and play audio from cell phones and other personal electronic devices. The weekend proved to be quite memorable and would not have been possible in our previous car.Īs previously stated, the top benefits of this vehicle for me is the cargo storage volume as well as the comfort level for driver and passenger. What makes this memory with my vehicle memorable was the fact that this was the first time that I had seen my parents since we had moved away from our friends and family the previous year. We easily made the slightly over three-hour trip to Savannah with everyone commenting on how comfortable they were on the trip. This trip would be to Savannah, Georgia and happened to be with my mother and father on their first visit to us from California. We purchased our Cadillac SRX shortly after our first road trip with both dogs and quickly planned our next trip. Since we are used to traveling with our first dog, we found that traveling long distances with both dogs as well as all of the luggage that we tote around was not very feasible and comfortable in our previous sedan. Once we moved into our new home (and gained a lot more backyard space), we adopted a second dog. This vehicle was bought in 2015 when my wife and I relocated to Georgia from California in order to pursue a new career opportunity for me in the pharmaceutical industry. However, these seats would be perfect for families with small children or infants. Anyone over 6 feet tall would not feel comfortable for extended periods of time. Additionally, the overhead space is sub optimal. The only real dislikes that I have regarding this vehicle is that the rear seat is pretty standard in regards to comfort. The SRX is the vehicle of choice for about 90% of my families driving for these reasons. At 6'5", I can continuously drive this vehicle for 5+ continuous hours without feeling discomfort. The other main reason for choosing the SRX was due to its comfort level. You can also utilize the roof cargo rails and install a trailer hitch (which we have done) for added cargo space. The SRX provides as good amount of cargo space with the rear seats folding down. ![]() We initially were attracted to this vehicle because we needed more space than our previous sedans provided for longer road trips with our two dogs. I bought this 2012 SRX in 2015 and only paid ~40% of it original MSRP. Update: Still in love with my SRX! I have gone through all 4 seasons now and through rain and snow and ice and everything in between, this baby has taken care of us! We have taken it across 2 states for weekend excursions and still believe it is the perfect vehicle for my needs. This vehicle was initially chosen due to its quick depreciation of value. I think my only complaint was $25 for a wiper blade.one wiper blade! But I suppose its all relative.right? Update: I have had this for a little while now and still love it just as much as the day we brought it home! We've taken it on a few trips and for the long haul, the ride is very nice. Went with the black.black seats, dash and carpet and carbon fiber (rather than wood) and that did the trick. Did not care for one color dash, different color seats, different color carpet.then the wood accents.a little too pimpy for this lady. Interior - the black seemed to be the only model that had "matching" interior. Feels sturdy when driving - we drove a few of the competitors which felt light weight and unstable - this one just felt safer when driving. Great gas mileage around town (over 17) and handles well in the snow and ice. Great interior, easy to use and fun to drive. Even with the base model, it is quite luxurious. If I had to do it over, would have for sure gotten the rear camera. My only issue is blind spots.they take a bit to get used to. Loved it from afar from the first time I saw it. Remember the commercial.when you turn your car on, does it return the favor? This one does! Couldn't quite pull off the luxury package so we got the base and I do love it. ![]()
